Whatever the weather outside you can be snug in the pleasant lounge enjoying a glowing fire, perhaps listening to some of your favourite music on the CD player, or watching the Christmas or Hogmanay programmes on the colour television. Alternatively you may wish to get out and savour the atmosphere in the Isle of Skye's local pubs or hotels, and there is usually a venue with a firework display to round off New Years Eve. We will be pleased to forward details on request.

To recover from the nightlife you may wish to take a walk in the fresh air. Winter days can be bright, frosty and bracing and the Isle of Skye has a beauty that is apparent in all seasons. We provide suggestions for local walks in the vicinity of Taigh na Traon so that you can walk from the house without any need to take a car.

Stand outside Taigh na Traon on a clear night and you will be amazed by the sight of the truly dark sky, away from any streetlights or city glow, because of the number and brilliancy of the stars. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to see the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, which may well be seen on a clear frosty night, Isle of Skye weather conditions permitting.

For your holiday meals you have a choice of dining in one of the Isle of Skye's excellent hotels and restaurants and we will be pleased to forward details and menus. If you wish to cook in the well equipped kitchen of Taigh na Traon, a selection of delicious festive food can be arranged to be delivered and ready waiting for you at Taigh na Traon, supplied by Letterfinlay Specialist Foods.
